Journey into a world that integrates salmon, forests, rivers and community. Sustaining healthy rivers in urban settings requires commitment. The Coho Walk is a celebration of community effort and support to keep this ecosystem flourishing.
Where: | Capilano River Regional Park, North & West Vancouver | When: | Sunday, September 7, 2008 -10:00am to 2:00pm | How: | Park your vehicle at Park Royal South Mall. BUS PICK-UP LOCATION IS BETWEEN THE KEG AND WHITE SPOT PARKING LOTS (CLOSER TO MARINE DRIVE). LOOK FOR SIGNS AND TENT. Shuttle buses leave continuously between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Pay your drop-in fee and hop aboard the bus which takes you directly to Capilano River Regional Park for the start of both the long hike (approx. 8.5 kms) or the shorter hike (approx. 4.5 kms). The long hike finishes at Ambleside Park, site of the Coho Festival and the shorter hike finishes at the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Walk Notes
| Both walks start at the Cleveland Dam. | | All proceeds benefit local salmon enhancement projects. | | Walkers doing the 8.5 km walk will finish at Ambleside Beach Park. | Walkers doing the 4.5 km walk will finish at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. You will have to cross the Bridge to finish and exit through the turnstile gates to Capilano Road where a shuttle bus will take you back to the starting point at Park Royal. | Access to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Park is free to Coho Walkers on this day, so be sure to visit. | The last bus leaves Park Royal at 2:00pm. Walkers doing the short walk need to start their walk before noon in order to catch the last shuttle bus returning to Park Royal. This bus will be leaving the Suspension Bridge at 2:20pm. | | Give yourself 1 1/2 hours to complete the 4.5 km walk and 2 1/2 hours to complete the 8.5 km walk. | | Coho Walk T-shirts are available for sale at the Park Royal bus pick-up area. CASH ONLY. | Dogs are permitted in Capilano River Regional Park and Ambleside, but must be on a leash. Dogs are not permitted on shuttle buses, so if you would like 'Fluffy' to participate then you will need to make carpool arrangements. | Be prepared -- some portions of both hikes are challenging and not recommended for those with baby strollers or inappropriate footwear. | Don't forget to join us at Ambleside Beach Park for an afternoon of FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT for the whole family. |
