Join us for a special evening celebrating the Kay Meek Centre’s legacy while honouring the many presenters,  supporters, community leaders, and Mrs. Kay Meek.

November 6th, 2014 marks ten years since the first public performance at Kay Meek Centre. A special 10th Anniversary Community Showcase with guest performers and speakers will celebrate how Kay Meek Centre has enriched the North Shore community and become a place for friends, families and neighbours of all ages to gather together for excellence in performing arts.

This event is by donation (Suggested $10/$20/$30).

Burstin with Broadway, Pro Arté Centre, WVSS Theatre Company, West Vancouver District Honour Choirs, and Amanda Wood.

Burstin with Broadway is a Musical Theatre choir with over 100 members based on the North Shore and committed to delighting audiences with an extensive repertoire of Musical Theatre.   Known for their fantastic rhythms, showmanship and professional productions. Burstin with Broadway was founded in 2005 by Dominique Hogan.

Established in 2003, Pro Arté Centre is best known for its commitment to providing holistic and inspired training to young dancers intending to pursue a career in dance. Recognized for both outstanding performance and technical ability in internationally acclaimed competitions in the USA and Europe. Pro Arté sees students achieve high distinction in all technical examinations and competitions supported by some of the most creative choreography in Vancouver.

WVSS Vancouver Theatre Company is the longest running school- based theatre company in West Vancouver. Under the direction of Judith Hogan since 1999. The Company is drawn from students in grades 8-12 who based on auditions take on roles from performing, to stage management, to props, costumes and sets. Over the years the program has graduated students who have gone on to study performing arts at professional programs across North America.

The performance for the Showcase is a scene from a play and features Matthew Rhodes and Hannah Toms.

West Vancouver District Honour Choirs

Introduced in 2013 these two choirs are comprised of the finest choral singers from across the West Vancouver School District.  Students from Grades 6-11 are invited to audition each April and then are placed in either the Honour Choir (mixed voices) or the Women’s Honour Choir.  Under the direction of Suzanne Fulton these choirs with over 90 members are already winning awards and impressing judges.
