The BCCCPA ia a registered non-profit charitable society whose mission is to help families who have children with cancer who are struggling financially by providing them with aid through the Family Financial Aid Program. Each year in BC, approximately 150 children are diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer and 350 are on treatment at any given time. Many childhood cancers are being cured, yet we still lose many children. Despite the extreme diversity of facing an uncertain future and often an uncomfortable and debilitating therapy, these children are an inspiration of hope and courage. They bring smiles to people's faces and beauty into the world.

This past year, HARVEST PROJECT provided one-on-one client coaching to more than 3,000 people, a food recovery program that supplied food valued at $600,000 to individuals and families in-need, as well as thrift clothing for hundreds of clients. HARVEST PROJECT also operates its retail Clothes For Change thrift store on-site. HARVEST PROJECT’s mission is to “Extend a Hand Up, Not a Hand-Out”, helping to restore our neighbours to health and stability, benefiting the entire community. HARVEST PROJECT is a registered charity organization that has served Metro-Vancouver’s North Shore since 1993. Harvest Project is dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome difficult life circumstances so that they can take steps towards a more full participation within the North Shore community. Clients, along with our more than 130 volunteers, staff and board members are all North Shore residents.

The Family Support Centre is operated by the North Shore Schizophrenia Society. We offer personal support and education to families of the seriously mentally ill; information on major mental illnesses to the community at large; and advocacy on behalf of the seriously mentally ill and their families. Our programs include one-to-one peer counselling, support groups, the 12-session Family to Family education program, the Partnership Program (in the schools), Public Education Meetings at Lions Gate Hospital, participation in public awareness events, and recreational/social activities with psychiatric patients.
